An Oxnard man was indicted by a federal grand jury last week on charges of robbing a Ventura bank and an Oxnard savings and loan.
Andrew Legans Jr., 52, faces up to 20 years in prison and a $5,000 fine for each robbery, said Gary Auer, head of the FBI’s Ventura office. Also indicted was Wiley Baxter Golden, 39, of San Francisco.
The men are charged with robbing Wells Fargo Bank, 101 S. Chestnut St., Ventura, and Santa Paula Savings & Loan Assn., 2824 Saviers Road, Oxnard, on Jan. 29.
Legans and Golden were arrested the same day on unrelated narcotics charges. Legans is serving a sentence at the California State Prison at Chino and Golden is serving time at the Ventura County Jail.
The men will be taken into federal custody before their state sentences expire, Auer said.
