International Remote Imaging Reports Profit

International Remote Imaging Systems reported a first-quarter profit of $16,767, compared with a year-earlier loss of $58,403.

The Chatsworth company, which makes urinalysis machines, said the latest earnings came on a 19% increase in revenue for the quarter that ended March 31, to $1.29 million from $1.08 million a year earlier.

International Remote attributed the latest profit to its higher sales and improved manufacturing efficiency.
