2 on Scripps Faculty Get Fulbright Grants

Bruce Coats and Steve Koblik of the Scripps College faculty have received Fulbright grants for foreign research.

Coats, assistant professor of art history, received $40,000 to spend nine months in Japan completing research for a book tracing the evolution of Zen temple architecture and garden forms.

Koblik, dean of the faculty and professor of history, has a four-month, $15,000 grant to complete research in Sweden on the second volume of his book, “The Stones Cry Out: Sweden’s Response to the Persecution of the Jews 1933-1945.”
