Raiders Coach to Get Award From League

Los Angeles Raiders coach Art Shell will be one of six honorees at the eighth annual Urban League Orange County awards banquet tonight at the Disneyland Hotel.

League President George Williams said more than 500 people are expected to attend the $150-a-plate dinner at which Rep. Robert K. Dornan (R-Garden Grove) will give the keynote address.

The Garden Grove-based chapter of the league will host the event, called “Building to Better Serve.” The organization provides educational and employment programs for minorities countywide. Money raised at the dinner will help fund those programs, Williams said.
