Turmoil in Soviet Union
When will the persecution and pogroms of the Armenians at the hands of the Azerbaijanis and the Red Army end? Although our attention is turned to the crisis in the Mideast, we are turning a blind eye to the fledgling democracies in the Soviet Union. The events that are currently taking place in Armenia are reminiscent of the days of Stalin. Only the Armenians, Georgians, Lithuanians, Latvians and Estonians can truly comprehend the resignation of Eduard Shevardnadze as foreign minister last year.
