Top Developers to Speak During June Workshop

Presidents or owners of 14 of the top real estate development companies in the United States will appear June 19-20 at a workshop for developers at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Laguna Niguel.

Ron Birtcher, whose Birtcher Development is the country’s 12th largest development firm, will be keynote speaker of the workshop, sponsored by the nonprofit REDI Foundation, which has 20,000 member developers.

Developers participating in the program will include Ted Cox, Watt Industries; Larry Faigin, Home Capital Corp.; Craig Johnson, Pulte Corp.; Paul Friedman, Friedman Development; Magdy Hanna, Newport Pacific Development, and Ure Kretowicz, Sunland Development.

Others are George Meeker Jr., Meeker Development; Harry Crowell, Crowell Industries; Corky McMillin, McMillin Development; George Lightner, Lightner Development; William Blakkolb, Tishman West; Jeoffrey Stack, Regis Homes, and Richard Abraham, R. M. Abraham Ventures.

Workshop materials give a step-by-step description of how 300 of the country’s leading developers develop subdivisions, PUDs, rehabs, condos, conversions, apartments, infill, industrial and office buildings; shopping centers, and resort projects.

The materials also cover market analyses, development opportunities, zoning approvals, feasibility studies, financing, loan restructuring, joint ventures, how to raise equity capital and other subjects of interest to beginning and more experienced developers.

The materials are available at $795 a packet, and the workshop is an additional $295. There is an additional fee for DRE credit.

Those wishing to attend must be planning or involved in a real estate development. Real estate brokers or agents must have at least five years’ experience to qualify.
