Computer Marketer Loses $185,000 in 4th Quarter

Delphi Information Systems Inc., a Westlake Village marketer of computer systems for insurance agents and brokers, said it lost $185,000 in its fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31, compared to a profit of $288,000 a year earlier.
The company’s sales, however, jumped 52% for the quarter, to $8.83 million from $5.8 million a year earlier.
Delphi said the increased revenue resulted mainly from the acquisition of McCracken Computer Inc., a former competitor, but added that the revenue growth was offset by some of the costs of the deal.
For the year ended March 31, Delphi had a profit of $1.12 million, compared to a $1.64-million loss the previous year, while its revenue grew 26% to $26.6 million from $21.1 million.
