Matsushita Electric Industrial Co.: Healthy sales at home and overseas boosted fiscal 1990 profit at the Japanese electronics giant by 10% to a record $1.88 billion (258.9 billion yen). Sales also rose 10% to a record $46.8 billion (6,599.3 billion yen). The Tokyo-based company said it expects profit to decrease in fiscal 1991 because of interest payments on loans for its purchase of MCA Inc. Matsushita bought MCA, owner of Universal Studios, for $6.1 billion in December, 1990.
