Oxnard OKs Loan to City Manager
Oxnard’s City Council on Tuesday approved a $306,000 low-interest loan to City Manager Vernon G. Hazen to enable him to purchase a home in Oxnard.
Under the agreement approved by the council, the 8% loan will be repaid in full, plus interest and deferred interest, upon Hazen’s sale of his house in Escondido, his death or the end of his tenure with the city.
The council agreed to provide Hazen with a home loan as an inducement to hire him in July, 1990, City Atty. Gary L. Gillig said.
