Westwood : Fund for Geriatric Dentistry
The UCLA School of Dentistry received $100,000 to establish a geriatric dentistry fund.
The money is the gift of former dentistry professor Paul Ehrlich and his wife, June.
According to a UCLA official, the gift is the first major contribution to the geriatric dentistry program, which provides oral health services to people 55 years and older, since the program was established in 1986.
“This magnanimous gift from the Ehrlichs will enable the School of Dentistry to provide a much greater emphasis on teaching students geriatric dentistry principles, and improving oral health in today’s growing older population,” said Henry M. Cherrick, UCLA dean of dentistry.
