Lower Yields on Notes at Auction: Yields on five-year Treasury notes fell in Thursday’s auction to the lowest level in a month. The average was 7.69%, down from 7.7% at the auction April 25. It was the lowest rate since five-year notes averaged 7.51% Feb. 21. The notes will carry a coupon of 7.675%, with each $10,000 in face value selling for $9,973.40. A total of $9.26 billion in notes was sold out of bids totaling $25.5 billion.
