SIMI VALLEY : Police Identify 3 Suspected Robbers
Three people arrested in connection with breaking into a Simi Valley house, ransacking it and tying up the adult occupants were identified by police Thursday.
Arrested on suspicion of armed robbery were Bruce Dan Vu, 18, of Reseda; Hao Nguyen, 18, of Alhambra, and Michael Phung, 20, a transient, Simi Valley police Sgt. Robert A. Gardner said. A 17-year-old male from Pacoima also was arrested.
The three adults are being held in Ventura County Jail on $20,000 bail each, a jail spokesman said. The teen-ager was at Ventura County Juvenile Hall, Gardner said.
The break-in occurred Wednesday afternoon at a house in the 2000 block of Riverbirch Drive. Four suspects knocked on the door and then forced their way in, police said. Two of them carried guns, Gardner said.
They tied up three adults. But neither they nor the five children in the house were injured, police said.
The suspects fled when a neighbor saw them leave the house, Gardner said. Police said they sealed off the neighborhood and arrested the suspects shortly thereafter.
