Judge Bars Construction of Seawolf: A federal judge in Norfolk, Va., extended a restraining order that he issued May 7, barring the Electric Boat division of General Dynamics Corp. from starting work on the second Seawolf submarine until a lawsuit over the military contract is heard this summer. The New England company was awarded the contract to build the second Seawolf by the Navy on May 3. The Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Co. filed a lawsuit May 6 challenging the contract award as unfair and illegal. Officials at Electric Boat in Groton, Conn., could not be reached immediately.
