WELL . . .

Apparently, Lou Cannon’s book, “The Role of a Lifetime” (which I haven’t read), tells what most intelligent Americans already knew or suspected about Reagan’s “hands off” management (read incompetent or ignorant, or both; your choice).

It is time for someone to write a book entitled “The Role of the Media.” For eight years they brushed layer after layer of Teflon over this amiable, ignorant actor while he was destroying the economy and the standing of our country.

Reagan had an excuse. He was a tired old man, unsuited to the demands of the presidency.

What was the media’s excuse for not telling the truth to the people?
