Standard Brands Sets Meeting: The Torrance-based paint retailer said its annual meeting will be held Friday, July 12. The meeting, originally scheduled for May 24, was postponed because the troubled company was negotiating new financial pacts with key lenders. Standard also said directors Friday elected John Latshaw to a two-year term on the board, and that shareholders will vote at the annual meeting for two new directors. Latshaw, who owns 15.8% of Standard’s stock, had previously threatened to try to unseat current management in a proxy fight.
