Western Digital Corp., a manufacturer of computer components, has introduced two new lines of computer disk drives that could eventually account for 15% of the company’s half-billion disk-drive sales. Robert Blair, spokesman for the company, said Western Digital will ship its Caviar 160 and Caviar 2120 drives--with memory capacities of 62.5 megabytes and 125 megabytes, respectively--in initial volumes later this month.
