Children With HIV Infection

Share

I was impressed by the objective stance taken in the pediatric AIDS article.

In response to the waiting list at Caring for Babies With AIDS, this is the total number of children who have been referred to our home since its opening in August, 1990. These children were placed in alternative foster placements.

Regarding the child who was abused following a home visit: This child was discharged home based on a court order. After returning to his home for a 2 1/2-month period, he was hospitalized for abuse and returned to Caring for Babies With AIDS placement. This case exemplifies the critical need for intervention and follow-up services for the families once the child returns home.
