World IN BRIEF : NORTHERN IRELAND : Political Factions Agree on Meeting

A six-week deadlock in talks between the four main political parties of Northern Ireland ended when their leaders agreed to begin face-to-face negotiations June 17. The parties representing the Protestant and Roman Catholic communities had disagreed on a site for the second stage of the talks with the Irish government. The negotiations will now take place mainly in Belfast and London but with some meetings in Dublin.
