Mike Jones had four hits and drove in four runs Thursday night, pacing a 14-hit attack that carried Wichita State to an 11-3 victory over Creighton and into Saturday’s championship game of the College World Series.

Wichita State (66-12) defeated fellow Missouri Valley Conference member Creighton (51-22) eight times in as many meetings this year and is 32-2-1 in the last seven years against the Bluejays.

The Shockers, seeded third, will meet No. 4 Louisiana State (54-18). Both teams were unbeaten in their respective brackets.

Against Creighton, Wichita State’s Kennie Steenstra (17-0) became the winningest pitcher in Division I. Fresno State’s Bobby Jones, 1-1 in the World Series, is 16-2. “I had a goal at the beginning of the season to win 15,” Steenstra said. “I never imagined I would go 17-0.”

The Shockers made four double plays to support Steenstra, who scattered nine hits and two walks while striking out four.

Jones singled in a run and scored one in the fourth, hit a two-run homer in the fifth and singled in a run and scored another in the five-run seventh.
