Don’t Discount Comments

I would like to make some comments about the article “Don’t Discount These Hotel and Motel Prices,” May 19.

Hilton Hotels, Senior HHonors: excellent service and they honor whatever they promise. Holiday Inn: same. Red Lion Inns/Thunderbird: very bad experience. At the time of making reservations, the AARP discount was requested and promised but, at the time of checking in at the locations (Eureka, Calif., and Klamath Falls, Ore.), the discount was denied with the excuse that they had fulfilled their “quota” for the year. Furthermore, my spouse is handicapped and a ground-floor room was requested and not received at the Oregon facility.
