Sailor Arrested in Slaying of Janitor
A sailor was arrested Monday and held on suspicion of murder in the stabbing death of a Reseda janitor, Los Angeles police said.
Keith Allen Parker, 25, of Reseda is on active duty at the Navy base at Long Beach and was on a 48-hour pass when the slaying occurred early Sunday, Lt. George Rock said.
Rock said Rick Migneault, 44, was killed with a large knife about 2:15 a.m. after he confronted three men in the parking lot of his apartment building in the 17800 block of Sherman Way.
According to witnesses, the three challenged Migneault’s authority and an argument ensued. Neither Parker nor his companions lived in the apartment building, and Rock said their reason for going to the parking lot was unknown.
Two suspects remained at large Monday, police said.
