A man blew himself up with his own bomb and a policeman was shot to death in new violence in Yugoslavia’s troubled republic of Croatia, Tanjug news agency said. It said that Jovan Karajic was blown apart when an explosive device he and several others were planting went off at a soccer club in a Croatian village. Meanwhile, policeman Vlado Lauccan died after being shot in the back at a roadblock in northern Croatia. The deaths raised to at least 22 the number killed in violence believed to involve Croats and Serbs, Yugoslavia’s largest ethnic groups. Serb-Croat clashes have been fired by a dispute among the country’s six republics over the future shape of the multiethnic country.
