Toll Rises to 22 From Heavy Rains in Beijing

BEIJING —
The death toll from days of torrential rains in Beijing has risen to 22, the official Beijing Daily reported Friday.
Beijing and its outlying counties were hammered by record rainfall, accompanied by gusting winds and hail, earlier last week. One village north of Beijing recorded 15 inches of rain in one day.
