PLACENTIA : City to Pay $28,000 to Repair Crossing
The City Council has voted to chip in $28,000 to repair a Santa Fe railroad crossing at Kraemer Boulevard near Crowther Avenue.
The crossing is actually in the city of Anaheim close to the Placentia border, but it has been a source of irritation for drivers in both cities.
Drivers are jolted as they cross the tracks because the wood planking has worn down, exposing the rails. Anaheim has also agreed to pay $28,000 toward the repairs.
The Santa Fe Railway Co. will pay the cost of installing a rubberized material to replace the wood and to adjust the rails and ties.
Work is expected to be completed at the end of the summer.
