Save That Swatch: Swatches, the high-tech, loud-ticking Swiss watches that were all the rage for wrists during the ‘80s, brought in big money at a Christie’s auction in Zurich on Saturday. The top-selling timekeeper, a Swatch designed by Italian artist Mimmo Paladino in 1989, went for $24,768. A 1988 Swatch called “Blow Your Time Away” fetched $13,113. And Swatch’s 1983 Classic Jelly Fish, a see-through plastic watch, went for $5,828. Swatches now sell for about $40 to $80 in department stores.
