Share

Several proposed hikes in city park and recreation facility charges will be considered tonight by the City Council.

If passed, the proposed fee increases are expected to generate an additional $16,000 per year for the city, according to a report by Bonnie Martinez, city recreation supervisor.

Fees that would be raised under the proposal include room rental rates for parties and weddings in recreational facilities, and athletic field rental rates for youth sports organizations, Martinez said.

The city Parks and Recreation Commission approved the fee hikes in April. If approved by the council at its 7 o’clock meeting tonight, the new rates will take effect July 1, according to a report by Bruce Wegner, city parks and recreation manager.

City facilities with charges to the public include the Ole Hanson Beach Club, the San Clemente Community Center, the San Clemente Senior Center and various city parks.
