The Santa Monica City Council has voted to seek more than $2.25 million from the state for projects to build low-rent apartments and to provide money for home improvements.
More than $2 million has been pledged by the state for a site at 2827 Lincoln Blvd., where the city plans to build 45 affordable housing units and 18,000 square feet of commercial space.
An additional $250,000 is being sought by the council to provide $20,000 to $30,000 loans with 3% interest rates to low-income homeowners who want to renovate their houses.
