California IN BRIEF : SAN DIEGO : Suspect in 5 Killings Pleads Not Guilty

Cleophus Prince Jr., 23, of Birmingham, Ala., pleaded innocent in the serial slayings of five San Diego County women stabbed by an intruder who broke into their homes. The killings took place between January and September, 1990. Once the subject of the largest manhunt in San Diego history, Prince was ordered held without bail pending a preliminary hearing set for Sept. 30.
