Children Aren’t Beyond the Law

Share

I was very, very disappointed by the letter “Parents ‘Crazy’ for Turning in Children.”

I feel that the parents who turned in their children did the right thing. And I don’t agree that most of us would do anything to keep our children out of the hands of the police, courts and jail.

I feel that most of “us” would do our best to bring up our children to be good people. But if they broke the law they must be responsible, even if it means going to jail. Children must learn that their actions will bring a result. Good actions will bring good results, bad actions will bring bad results.

The children that vandalized the school affected people other than their families. If they had vandalized a brother’s bedroom, then that’s a family matter, but not when they affect an entire school and community.
