MEXICO CITY —
Seventeen people have been found to have cholera, the government newspaper El Nacional said Sunday.
Latin America’s worst cholera epidemic this century broke out in Peru last January and spread to neighboring nations.
All those diagnosed in Mexico were living in the southern part of the state of Mexico, which virtually surrounds Mexico City.
The Health Ministry said the disease most likely spread through foreigners who entered Mexico illegally.
