For the second time in five days, Detroit’s Mickey Tettleton hit a home run out of Tiger Stadium.

Tettleton, who cleared the stadium roof Friday night against the Angels, did it again in the third inning of Wednesday’s 8-7, 13-inning victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. Tettleton hit a 2-and-1 pitch from Milwaukee starter Jamie Navarro onto the right-field roof, and the ball bounced once before leaving the stadium.

Tettleton became the fifth player to hit two or more balls out of Tiger Stadium. Detroit’s Norm Cash did it four times, the Yankees’ Mickey Mantle did it three times and Jason Thompson and Kirk Gibson both did it twice.

It was the 25th home run hit out of the stadium. All but three have gone to right field.

Tettleton’s homer was one of three by the Tigers Wednesday night. Lou Whitaker led off the third with a shot several rows into the upper deck in right field, and Paul Molitor hit a three-run homer off Mike Henneman in the ninth to tie the score.

The Tigers won the game when Travis Fryman’s single in the 13th scored Alan Trammell. John Cerruti (1-2) pitched three perfect innings for the win. Julio Machado (0-2) took the loss.
