Texas Cable Company Bans MTV: TCA Cable TV Inc., bowing to complaints about too much sex and violence, said it would drop MTV from its 53 local cable TV systems beginning Monday. Calling the video music channel “borderline pornographic,” a TCA official said the Tyler, Tex.-based cable TV operator was responding to pressure from worried parents, teachers and local government agencies. TCA has 420,000 cable subscribers in seven Southern states.
