Message to a Whiner: Go Dig a Few Ditches

Please, not another Angst -ridden book by an under-30 whiner (“Boomer Backlash,” about Douglas Coupland, author of “Generation X,” June 12).

Their material is always the same: “We can’t make it because ‘they’ ruined it for us.” “You’ve handed us an empty platter.”

Most people get handed an empty platter, Dougie.

Your generation’s problem is you’ve spent too much time sitting in front of televisions and video games. Go dig a few ditches, fight some forest fires or build a railroad for $1 a day like I did and my father before me.
