Nixon’s Remarks

Put me down as the last one to defend Nixon on any account, but I don’t think anti-Semitism was anywhere near the top of his hierarchy of faults. After all, one of his closest political advisers, Murray Chotiner, was a Jew, as is Henry Kissinger, who served in two of the most sensitive positions of the Nixon Administration.

Instead, I think we see a textbook case of paranoid personality. Not only in the tapes, but in hundreds of other public and private utterances that have been written about, Nixon had legions to blame for the “conspiracies” behind everything that ever went wrong in his life. The man is just nuts.
