Girl, 2, Hospitalized After Pool Accident
A 2-year-old North Hollywood girl was in critical condition after she was pulled unconscious Saturday from a swimming pool at her apartment complex, Los Angeles police said.
Wilana Taylor was found on the bottom of the pool in the 6600 block of Wilkinson Avenue near Kittridge Street about 5:15 p.m., Sgt. Tom Toutant said. The girl apparently had wandered away from her baby-sitter at her home in a neighboring apartment building about 20 minutes earlier, he said.
Wilana was treated at North Hollywood Medical Center and then transferred to Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles where she remained in critical condition, hospital spokeswoman Gayle Coffey said.
