International Paper: The Purchase, N.Y., forest products giant said second-quarter net income dropped 43% to $104 million, while revenue dipped fractionally to $3.1 billion. The firm attributed the drop to the sluggish U.S. economy and increased industry capacity for making uncoated papers, which put “considerable pressure” on prices.
