NATION IN BRIEF : LOUISIANA : Ship Runs Aground in Mississippi River

A fully loaded 800-foot tanker carrying 19.7 million gallons of crude oil to an Exxon refinery ran aground in the Mississippi River near Baton Rouge, the Coast Guard said. There were no reports of injuries or pollution, but the river was closed. Coast Guard officials said it was not known how the Norwegian tanker Hitra became stuck in 40 feet of water.
