29-Year-Old Man Shot Twice; Father Arrested

A North Hollywood man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after he shot his son twice during a family quarrel, Los Angeles police said Sunday.

The incident occurred shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday in the 5500 block of Laurel Canyon Boulevard at an apartment occupied by Jerry Kelly, 56, Officer Mike Jensen said. He said Kelly used a handgun to shoot his son, Robert Kelly, 29, in the right cheek and the lower back during an argument.

Robert Kelly was listed in stable condition at Medical Center of North Hollywood. Jerry Kelly was being held without bail Sunday at Van Nuys Jail.
