Diamond Bar : Arrow Measure Delayed

Share

The City Council has postponed action on a measure that would prohibit the shooting of arrows in non-residential open areas.

Currently, arrows may be shot 150 yards away from houses and other populated places. The proposed amendment would outlaw arrow shooting in open spaces except in large back yards.

The measure was proposed after a resident expressed concerns that someone might be accidentally shot by the hunters who occasionally frequent the city’s open areas. No stray arrow accidents have been reported, according to Lt. Michael Muravez of the Sheriff’s Walnut Station.

Muravez and City Atty. Andy Arczynski will present a report on the matter at the council’s Aug. 6 meeting, to be held in the Walnut Valley Unified School District Board Room, 880 S. Lemon Ave. in Walnut.
