TUSTIN : Council Increases Trash Pickup Fees
The City Council unanimously voted this week to raise trash pickup fees.
The council approved raising trash collection rates from $107.88 to $139.56 per year for single-family homes.
Commercial rates were raised from $112.80 to $144.60 per year. Rates for various sizes of commercial bins will be increased accordingly, but will be billed directly by Great Western Reclamation rather than by the city.
City officials said the fees were raised in part to cover a state-mandated recycling program and to offset increased dumping fees at county-operated landfills.
