Shootings at Movie Opening

Share

We found ourselves in the midst of gunfire while exiting from a theater showing “Terminator 2” in Universal City. In the lobby, the wonderment of the film was quickly forgotten as bullets ricocheted around us. The popping sounds were unrelenting for about two minutes, probably less . . . a lifetime.

Is it the anticipation and publicity of possible violence that help move it along or is it simply random violence that would erupt with or without notoriety?

Certainly future movies depicting blacks will be subjected to very tough scrutiny. Perhaps a safety net with a scale of one to 10 will be imposed with 10 being a movie with extremely high risk. A sad scenario but certainly a believable one.
