IBM Unveils Workstation Graphics Devices: International Business Machines Corp. announced devices that improve the graphics-creating ability of its popular workstation line and unveiled a high-end graphics machine aimed at scientists and engineers. IBM’s new graphics adapter devices are circuit boards that fit inside workstations. They improve the ability of the computers to create slick screen displays that are used, for example, by scientists to model atomic structures or geologists to show an oil deposit. Some of the devices create 3-D graphics, while others are for two-dimensional displays.
