Laguna Playhouse Adds 5 Shows to Each Production
Attributing the move to strong subscription sales, the Laguna Playhouse has added five performances--three Saturday matinees and two Sunday evening shows--to the run of each of the five productions in its 1991-92 season.
The playhouse has sold 8,300, or 75%, of its subscriptions, according to executive director Richard Stein.
Stein also announced that dancer-choreographer Jack Tygett of San Diego has been hired to choreograph “On the Town,” the first production of the season, which begins Sept. 5. Tygett, who Stein said has worked on “The Tonight Show” and other TV programs, is head of musical theater at United States International University in San Diego.
Meanwhile, the playhouse has leased a 7,000-square-foot warehouse in El Toro where it has moved its scene construction shop and costume storage area, and where it will hold rehearsals and classes.
