Navy officials said Friday they will begin to distribute $40,000 in concession proceeds raised by nonprofit food and souvenir booth operators during the Point Mugu Air Show.

The money will be disbursed to the organizations at the rate of $104 for each person who worked at the booths, Navy spokesman Harry Lee said.

Additional money raised at the July 6 and 7 shows will be divided among relief and recreation offices at the base in two weeks, Lee said.

Officials would not release the total amount of the proceeds.

An estimated 185,000 people attended the two-day open house for Point Mugu Naval Air Station, which featured flight demonstrations by the Blue Angels and civilian pilots.

Fifty-three concession booths representing various on-base groups sold items near the runway to raise money for their yearly operations, Lee said.
