Lone Robber Flees With Cash From Buena Park Bank

Share

A lone gunman displaying a pistol tucked in his belt robbed a Great Western Bank of an undetermined amount of money Saturday before disappearing across a street into a busy commercial area, police said.

Buena Park Police Sgt. Stan Myhren described the bandit as in his late 20s, standing 5 feet, 4 inches tall with a medium build and short, blond hair.

He said the robber showed the teller the pistol and then demanded money. No one was injured. The bank branch is at 820 Stanton Ave.

Myhren said that a week ago another financial institution, Homes Savings just a block away, was held up by a bandit in his 50s wearing a shirt with a picture of a cartoon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle on the front. That robber also escaped.

Police said the FBI is investigating the two incidents.
