Based on good things I’d heard about Delta I decided to try them. (“The Ascent of Delta,” by Linda Grant, June 16). Getting to New Orleans was fine, but the return was a nightmare. Our jet blew an engine during takeoff, and most of us were rerouted via Denver on United. This resulted in a seven-hour delay and a harried attitude from the counter clerk: “You should feel fortunate that you’re going home today, at all.”
