OPEC Exceeds Its Production Limit: OPEC oil production exceeded 23 million barrels a day in June and July, the highest since March and above the cartel’s output limit, the oil consumer group International Energy Agency said. The agency said July output among the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries slipped by 100,000 barrels a day from the June level to 23.1 million barrels. A Reuters survey, also published Friday, put the 13 OPEC members’ July output slightly higher at 23.27 million, 185,000 more than in June. Both estimates indicate that OPEC is outstripping its agreed output target of 22.3 million barrels a day.
