Com Systems Inc., a Westlake Village long-distance telephone company, said it has renewed an agreement with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department to provide long-distance service to jail inmates.

The agreement, extending a previous two-year agreement, is worth $12 million to $15 million over its three-year term, the company said. It requires Com Systems to provide operator-assisted phone service to more than 2,000 pay phones in the 14 jails and holding facilities operated by the Sheriff’s Department.
