WORLD IN BRIEF : MIDEAST : Abu Nidal Unit in Saudi Arabia Cited

Saudi Arabia has allowed the Abu Nidal organization, one of the most dangerous terrorist groups in the world and the most implacable foe of Israel, to establish a presence in the tightly controlled desert kingdom, according to U.S. intelligence sources. The sources said the extremist Palestinians were allowed to enter Saudi Arabia in March, partly in a Saudi attempt to control Abu Nidal and partly as an slap at PLO leader Yasser Arafat. One source described the organization’s presence in Saudi Arabia as an office for “somebody to go to complain to, or give money to, or whatever has to be done.”
