Reputed Sect Leader Faces Child Sex Counts

OGDEN, Utah —
The reputed leader of a northern Utah polygamist sect was arraigned Monday on four felony child sex charges. Arvin Shreeve, 61, was formally charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault and two counts of sodomy involving two children under the age of 14.
On Aug. 2, police raided seven of the 10 homes believed occupied by Shreeve’s followers in Ogden, taking nine children into custody.
